DENTIST FOR CHILDREN

January 27, 2023 234 people Latest news

A child's teeth begin to erupt even before they are born. The first primary, or baby teeth, to pierce the gums are the lower central incisors. These are closely followed by the upper central incisors, which erupt four months after birth. Although most of a child's twenty primary teeth will have erupted by the time they are three years old, each child will experience eruption at a different rate and in a different order. The first permanent teeth start to erupt around age six. It begins with the lower central incisors and the first molars. Until a person is about 21 years old, this process continues. Adults have 28 permanent teeth, or up to 32 if the third molars are included (wisdom teeth). Following delivery, oral care should begin right away. You should always brush your baby's gums after feeding. To clean your gums, use a clean, damp cloth or gauze pad. Parents should brush their children's teeth once a day with a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste and a soft, moist toothbrush. When brushing young children, supervision is necessary to ensure that they form good brushing habits.
